The Village at Highland Creek will be located at Kingston Road and Fanklin Avenue, overlooking Colonel Danforth Park, a green space with nature trails through one of the GTA’s many distinct ravines. Follow the creek west, and residents will soon arrive at Morningside Park, a lovely, large natural park in the heart of Scarborough. Enjoy bike trails, fire pits, outdoor table tennis, picnic sites and a splash pad among many other facilities. This is a gorgeous spot to take in a summer day, and even spot the fall salmon run up Highland Creek.
Sitting in the West Hill neighbourhood of Scarborough, The Village at Highland Creek will be among a new generation of townhomes rising in this area. A concerted effort to densify and strengthen this community has led to a great deal of exciting development, which makes for healthy investment. This is a location on the eastern edge of Scarborough that is still quite connected to Downtown thanks to GO transit and the extended TTC lines.
There are many institutions nearby, including Scarborough Town Centre, University of Toronto Scarborough Campus, and the Centennial College Morningside Campus, which all together make this neighbourhood an increasingly attractive place for students and young professionals.
Just 20 minutes south-west, residents will find the famous Scarborough Bluffs, a stretch of gorgeous escarpment on the eastern beaches of Toronto. The Scarborough Bluffs were formed by a natural process of wind and water erosion over 12,000 years ago. Today, they make for a fantastic series of parks and green spaces with stellar views and dramatic cliff sides.
Parents will be happy to know the neighbourhood is full of great schools. Joseph Brant Public School, St. Martin de Porres Catholic School, Guildwood Village Montessori and many more all surround The Village at Highland Creek within a short walk.
Just down the road, residents will find a number of staple local amenities, Shoppers Drug Mart, Dollarama, Food Basics, LCBO and a Starbucks are all just a few blocks away.
Scarborough is directly connected to the rest of Toronto by the world-class TTC transit system. Along with extensive bus line grids, Scarborough is at the eastern terminus of Line 2 Bloor-Danforth, with stations Victoria Park, Warden, and Kennedy. Further, Line 3 Scarborough continues on throughout the borough, running north and east towards Scarborough City Centre. Metrolinx, the Ontario-owned parent company of the TTC, plans to extend this line within the next decade, and a new Light Rail Transit line is currently in construction, with plans for connections to Kennedy Station. With many bus lines and stops nearby along Lawrence avenue, transit in the area will be easy, since connections to TTC stops will be relatively simple.
The Village at Highland Creek residents will find their two local GO stations, Guildwood GO and Rouge Hill GO are both less than ten minutes away, making for simple commutes into the city. Alternatively, residents can connect to McCowan TTC station as well, less than ten minutes away.
Over the next decade, transit connections in Scarborough are only expected to improve, with the city pledging new tracks as part of the Scarborough Subway Expansion Project.
Further, residents will also find The Village at Highland Creek to be conveniently located for cars as well. Very close to Highway 404, as well as the Don Valley Parkway, The Village at Highland Creek is in an excellent location for cross-city travel, as well as to make highway connections and commutes into the city, and to take trips all across southern Ontario.
Scarborough is a dynamic area, with a wide array of communities and investment opportunities. Most of the recent development has occurred near the Scarborough Town Centre, as this area becomes more and more connected with the rest of the GTA through it’s dedicated TTC line and other infrastructure projects.
As a result, the entire area has sprung up with new developments, condominiums and master-planned communities. When you combine that with the area’s natural greenspaces, it’s parks, beaches, and ravines, and Scarborough becomes an increasingly attractive area for investors.
The location of this development really adds to it’s investment allure. Scarborough Town Centre is only 16 minutes away. Scarborough Health Network Hospital, meanwhile, is just 12 minutes away, the UofT Scarborough Campus is only 5 minutes drive, and Centennial College Morningside Campus is 7 minutes away. These institutions are all so close by, coupled with a brand new school, and future expansions to the TTC in the area makes this area a singularly convenient place to own a home.
